South Florida History and Distribution: Chiococca parvifolia and Chiococca pinetorum have often been lumped together under either name or into the much larger C. alba. We have done our best to sort out these records, but some records of Chiococca parvifolia reported in the FISF for the lower Florida Keys may be Chiococca pinetorum, and there may be some plants of Chiococca parvifolia farther into the interior of Miami-Dade County than our maps indicate.

Florida Keys History and Distribution: Chiococca pinetorum, which included C. parvifolia, was reported in 1913 by John Kunkel Small for pinelands and open hammocks from the upper Keys to the lower Keys. We consider this native only to the lower Keys. Some records of Chiococca parvifolia reported in the FISF for the lower Florida Keys may be Chiococca pinetorum.
