Join the Institute for Regional Conservation and the City of Boynton Beach to restore a portion of Galaxy Sand Pine Scrub Preserve! On Saturday, August 2nd join IRC for a fun volunteer event where participants will install native plants in an area where invasive species were removed. This will allow us to enhance the native biodiversity of the park.
There is no experience required! So grab a friend and come out to help repair the essential biodiversity of the Galaxy Sand Pine Scrub Preserve. Whether this is your first volunteer event with us or you're a repeat volunteer, we are so excited to have you join the IRC family and see how much fun habitat restoration can be!

We recommend that you wear comfortable outdoor clothing, you will be in full sun. Wear a hat and sunscreen! Bring a reusable water bottle and anything else that makes you comfortable in the outdoors! We will provide the rest.

Volunteer Event - Ecological Restoration Day - South Beach Park - Boca Raton

Join the Institute for Regional Conservation in this exciting project with City of Boca Raton! On Saturday, August 23rd join IRC for a ecological restoration event. Where you can learn about the importance of coastal ecosystems and assist with a small native plant installation as well as invasive species removal.
Please make a left into the park, and then use the spaces on the right about quarter mile down. We will be meeting in the north end of the parking lot, near lifeguard tower 6. A map of where to meet will be sent to your email upon registration. We will have a sign in area staging area. Groups of volunteers will be instructed how to install native plants into the ground. We will also remove some nonnative plants as well.
