Principales regiones geográficas conforme a Axelrod (2011): Colinas Calizas del Norte, Faldas de Montaña del Sureste (Coamo), Cordillera Oriental, Calizas Costeras del Sur, Cordillera Central (Bosque Estatal de Susua), Cordillera Occidental, Llanuras Costeras del Suroeste (Cabo Rojo). Áreas botánicamente únicas conforme a Axelrod (2011): Las Piedras Chiquitas, Sierra Bermeja.

A shrub or small tree widespread in Puerto Rico, at low to middle elevations. Major geographic regions following Axelrod (2011): Northern Limestone Hills, Southeastern Foothills (Coamo), Eastern Cordillera, Southern Coastal Limestone, Central Cordillera (Susua State Forest), Western Cordillera, Southwestern Coastal Lowlands (Cabo Rojo). Botanically unique areas following Axelrod (2011): Las Piedras Chiquitas, Sierra Bermeja.
