Historia y distribución/History and distribution: Una hierba rara recolectada una vez por Agustín Stahl sobre arenas muy húmedas cerca de Bayamón (Liogier 1995). Citada por Axelrod (2011) como un taxón no recolectado recientemente. Varios especímenes etiquetados como esta en MARP son aparentemente Voyria aphylla (ver Acevedo-Rodríguez 7190 US; Breckon 2001). / A rare herb collected once by Agustín Stahl on wet sand near Bayamón (Liogier 1995). Listed as a taxon not recently collected in Axelrod (2011). Several specimens labelled as this at MARP are apparently Voyria aphylla (see Acevedo-Rodríguez 7190 US; Breckon 2001).

No fue incluida como una especie conocida de tres o menos localidades en Puerto Rico y las Islas Vírgenes por Figueroa Colon & Woodbury (1996) o por Figueroa Colon (1996).

This was first listed as a rare species in Puerto Rico by Woodbury et al. (1975), who classified it as an endangered species not endemic to Puerto Rico (species No. 233). It was listed as a Critical Element by DNER in 1988, 1999 and 2007. It was not included as a species known from three or fewer locations in Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands by Figueroa Colon & Woodbury (1996) or by Figueroa Colon (1996).
