Historia y distribución/History and distribution: Una hierba rara recolectada una vez en 1929 por E.G. Britton (9352 NY) a lo largo del camino de Guayama y Cayey sobre una roca a 300 m de elevación. Conocida solo del espécimen tipo (Axelrod 2011).

A rare herb collected once in 1929 by E.G. Britton (9352 NY) along the road between Guayama and Cayey on a rock at 300 m elevation. Known only from the type specimen (Axelrod 2011).

Global, estatus Lista Roja UICN/IUCN Red List status: Aún no evaluado, pero en el Catalogue of Life/Not yet assessed, but in the Catalogue of Life.

Notas de Conservación/Conservation Notes: Fue listada como Elemento Critico por el DRNA en 1988, 1999 and 2007. Fue incluido como especie de interés global para la conservación por el Center for Plant Conservation (1992), pero no fue catalogada como en riesgo de extinción porque había sido removida de la lista de evaluación. Fue descrita como una especie conocida de tres o menos localidades en Puerto Rico y las Islas Vírgenes por Figueroa Colon & Woodbury (1996), y le asignaron un rango global provisional como En Peligro Crítico usando los criterios de la Lista Roja de IUCN por y Miller et al. (2012b).

This was listed as a Critical Element by DNER in 1988, 1999 and 2007. It was included as a species of global conservation concern by the Center for Plant Conservation (1992), but was not ranked as being at risk of extinction because it had been removed from the ranking list. It was described as a species known from three or fewer locations in Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands by Figueroa Colon & Woodbury (1996) and Miller et al. (2012b) gave it a provisional global rank of Critically Endangered using the IUCN Red List criteria based on only being known from the type specimen.
