Historia y distribución/History and distribution: An endemic woody vine or shrub scattered on the island of Puerto Rico, from low to middle elevations. Major geographic regions following Axelrod (2011): Southern Coastal Limestone (Guánica State Forest), Sierra de Luquillo, Sierra de Cayey, Eastern Cordillera (Cerro Le Peña), Central Cordillera, Western Cordillera (Maricao State Forest), Northern Limestone Hills (Río Abajo State Forest). Botanically unique areas following Axelrod (2011): Las Tetas de Cayey.
