Historia y distribución/History and distribution: Cited by Liogier & Martorell (1982), Liogier (1985 [I: 151]), and Liogier & Martorell (2000) as grown for ornament and naturalized, but excluded as only under cultivation by Axelrod (2011). However, cited as naturalized in Puerto Rico in the Flora of the West Indies (Acevedo-Rodríguez & Strong 2015).
