History in the Bahamas: Reported in 1920 by Britton & Millspaugh for freshwater or slightly brackish marshes in the northwestern and central Commonwealth (Grand Bahama, Abaco, New Providence, Andros, Eleuthera, Watling’s Island). Reported by Correll & Correll (1982: 66-67, with illustrations) for brackish or freshwater marshes and ponds in the northwestern and central Commonwealth (regions 10-8, 6-4).

Synonyms: Typha angustifolia of Britton & Millspaugh (1920), not L.
