History in the Bahamas: Reported in 1920 by Britton & Millspaugh for salinas in the southeastern Archipelago (Grand Turk, Ambergris Cay). Reported by Correll & Correll (1982: 461-462, with illustrations) for coastal salt flats and salinas in the southeastern Archipelago (region 1).

Synonyms: Dondia insularis.
