History in the Bahamas: Reported in 1920 by Britton & Millspaugh for open shrublands on Mangrove Cay in the northwestern Commonwealth. Reported by Correll & Correll (1982: 1136, 1138) for shrublands, and widely cultivated and sometimes escaped in the northwestern Commonwealth (region 9).
