Native Range: Endemic to the Bahama Archipelago (accepted as endemic by the Flora of the West Indies; omitted by Freid et al. 2014).

Comments: Forming large stands in the northern Bahamas on Grand Bahama, Great Abaco, Andros and New Providence islands, and then scattered or forming extensive pine forests in the southern Bahamas on North Caicos, Grand Caicos (Middle Caicos) and Pine Cay (Correll & Correll, 1982).
