Native Range: The West Indies and South Florida.

History in the Bahamas: Reported in 1920 by Britton & Millspaugh as a vine creeping on tree trunks in coppices on Andros and New Providence. Reported by Correll & Correll (1982: 36) as climbing on bushes and small saplings in coppices in the northwestern and southeastern Commonwealth (regions 10-8, 3).

Synonyms: Phymatodes exiguum, Polypodium heterophyllum.
