Native Range: The West Indies (Bahamas, Greater Antilles) and South Florida.

History in the Bahamas: Reported in 1920 by Britton & Millspaugh for coastal rocks, coppices and scrublands throughout the Archipelago (Abaco and Grand Bahama to Grand Turk, Inagua and the Anguilla Cays). Reported by Correll & Correll (1982: 1084-1085, with illustrations) for coastal rocks, coppices and scrublands throughout the Archipelago (regions 10-1, 11).
