Native Range: The West Indies (Bahamas, Cuba, Hispaniola) and South Florida.

History in the Bahamas: Reported by Correll & Correll (1982: 865-867) for crevices of table rocks, open pinelands, and open coastal coppices in the northern Commonwealth (region 10). Also collected in 1890 on Eleuthera at Governor's Harbor (Hitchcock s.n. MO).
