Native Range: The West Indies, South Florida, southern Mexico, Central America and northern South America.

History in the Bahamas: Reported in 1920 by Britton & Millspaugh for a cave on New Providence. Reported by Correll & Correll (1982: 21-24, with illustrations) for walls of banana holes and sinkholes in the northwestern and central Commonwealth (regions 10-4).
