History in the Bahamas: Reported in 1920 by Britton & Millspaugh for disturbed areas nearly throughout the Commonwealth (Abaco to Acklin’s Island). Reported by Correll & Correll (1982: 464-465) for disturbed areas nearly throughout the Archipelago (regions 10-7, 5-1).

Synonyms: Achyranthes indica, Centrostachys indica.
