South Florida History and Distribution: Ranked as possibly extirpated in Rare Plants of South Florida (Gann et al.2002; pp 183-184) based on one collection from Glades County in 1967 (WG D'Arcy 1345 FLAS). Since then this species has been found in Sarasota County and there has been an unverified report of this species in Charlotte County. It is possible that this species is still present in South Florida. This is a temperate species at the southern end of its range, and it may have been always rare in South Florida.
