South Florida History and Distribution: Omitted from Rare Plants of South Florida (Gann et al. 2002) but first recorded in South Florida in 2000 by Mike Owen (FS0263 USF) in the Fakahatchee Strand Preserve State Park. It is still extant there and no new occurrences are known.

SOUTH FLORIDA Cultivated Status: Cultivated

Synonyms: B. occidentale var. minor.
