Florida Keys History and Distribution: Reported in 1884 by J. Cosmo Melvill for the island of Key West, but not reported for the Florida Keys by John Kunkel Small in 1931. Not observed in the lower sandy Keys until 1980 (Reimus & Robertson 1997), but apparently native there. We treat this as native and extant in the upper Keys, lower Keys and lower sandy Keys
