Florida Keys History and Distribution: Not reported for the Florida Keys by John Kunkel Small in 1913. Reported in 1971 by Robert W. Long and Olga Lakela for wet hammock margins and disturbed sites in southern Florida and the Florida Keys. Vouchered in 1972 by Kathy A. Fanning on Middle Torch Key (247, FTG). We consider this native and extant in the lower Keys.
