Florida Keys History and Distribution: Reported in 1884 by J. Cosmo Melvill as escaped from cultivation on the island of Key West.  Reported in 1913 by John Kunkel Small as escaped from cultivation on the island of Key West.  However, it was never vouchered and all of our records are from cultivated plants or plants persisting from cultivation.
