This native wildflower is currently known in South Florida only from pine rocklands on the Miami Rock Ridge; it is possible extirpated in the lower Florida Keys and in Big Cypress National Preserve. Using modern NatureServe criteria, we re-ranked this as Imperiled in South Florida in April 2020.
