Florida Keys History and Distribution: Reported in 1884 by J. Cosmo Melvill for the island of Key West. Reported in 1913 by John Kunkel Small for disturbed sites on the island of Key West. Collected numerous times from the upper Keys (Key Largo) to the lower Keys (Key West). Specimens can be viewed at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden'sVirtual Herbarium.
