South Florida History and Distribution:
This is rare in South Florida, where it is known primarily from the Miami Rock Ridge and the Florida Keys; it can be very abundant in both pine rocklands and rockland hammock and is also found in coastal hammocks on sand along the southeastern coast north to Boyton Beach. Using modern NatureServe criteria, we re-ranked this as Rare in South Florida in July 2018.
