Native Range: The West Indies, Mexico, Central America and northern South America; apparently introduced in South Florida.

SOUTH FLORIDA Cultivated Status: Cultivated

Comments: John Kunkel Small (1913, 1933) considered this to be a native of tropical America and introduced into South Florida. Ledin (1951) also thought this was probably introduced here. Other authors differ in their opinions, but we believe the weight of opinion is that this is not native to South Florida.

Synonyms: Pluchea odorata of Small (1913), not Cass.
