South Florida History and Distribution: Ranked as critically imperiled in Rare Plants of South Florida (Gann et al. 2002; pp 494-495) based on five occurrences in five protected areas. Due to this species' very limited distribution along the Miami Rock Ridge, we retain the rank of critically imperiled using modern NatureServe criteria.
