South Florida History and Distribution: Ranked as critically imperiled in Rare Plants of South Florida (
Gann et al. 2002; pp 284-286) based on one extant occurrence within Everglades National Park. Using updated NatureServe criteria two occurrences are present, one in the Long Pine Key area and one in the Cape Sable region. No new extant occurrences are known.
