South Florida History and Distribution: Ranked as critically imperiled in Rare Plants of South Florida (Gann et al. 2002; pp 265-266) based on one occurrence at the Fakahatchee Strand Preserve State Park in Collier County. The last known plant has recently died (M. Owen, email comm., 2020) and we are now treating this as possibly extirpated.
