South Florida History and Distribution: Ranked as possibly extirpated in Rare Plants of South Florida (
Gann et al. 2002, pp 140-141) based on a single collection in 1937 from "Deep Lake Hammock", which was likely what is now Fakahatchee Strand Preserve State Park in Collier County. A report for Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary (Judd 1994) was not verified by Wilder and McColl0 (2018).
