South Florida History and Distribution: Ranked as critically imperiled in Rare Plants of South Florida (
Gann et al. 2002; pp 137-139) based on two occurrences in one protected area (National Key Deer Refuge) and one non-protected area (Valhalla Rock Barren Site). It was also know from a few records on the mainland, but it was not clear if it was native there.
