South Florida History and Distribution: This was reported as possibly extirpated in South Florida in
Gann et al. (2002; pp 137-139), based on herbarium specimens collected from 1843 to 1980 in Charlotte, Collier, and Lee counties and the Monroe County Keys. The locality of the 1980 collection was undergoing development in 2000. Jay Horn observed this in 2021 at Carnestown, Collier County and reported it on
iNaturalist. This station is about 15 miles from where Olga Lakela made a collection at Collier-Seminole State Park in 1965 (
Lakela 29208 USF).
