South Florida History and Distribution: This is known in South Florida only from cultivation and from a few historic reports and recent collections, but our area is well within the native range of the species. It readily recruits on moist limestone rocks from cultivated plants, but does not appear to be a permanent part of the South Florida landscape. In South Florida and parts of the Florida peninsula, the tropical species
Adiantum tenerum is the typical species encountered in habitat.
