Dade Native Plant Workshop

You too can be this excited to learn about native plants! The Dade Native Plant Workshop provides you with the opportunity to learn about native plants together with others in our community, in addition to gaining plenty of hands-on experience!
  • Do you have a plant and you aren't sure what it is?
  • Would you like to learn how to identify native plants?
  • Have you discovered new locations for any unusual or rare native plants?

Come and learn with us at the Dade Native Plant Workshop. This workshop has been around for over fifty years! It is still FREE to the public... just bring in at least three plants, whether you know them or not, and your curiousity and enthusiasm as you join us in a scintillating discussion on how to identify them using plant ID resources as well as field characteristics developed by experienced botanists at the Dade Native Plant Workshop. As always, plants needn't cover the monthly topic.

Location:
We meet at the Landscape Technology Center at the Miami Dade College Kendall Campus (northwest corner of campus near the lake) at 7:00 pm the third Tuesday of every month.

August 18th, 2009 - Plants of Xeric Habitats

September 15th, 2009 - Submerged Aquatic Plants
